Let There Be No Goodbye

Let the time stand still...

Let my eyes take you in...

Let my heart feel your beat…

Let my arms hold you forever…

Let the dawn shine upon us…

Let the afterglow be eternal…

Disaster..

On a cool rainy Tueday evening a disaster befell on us in the form of "Phoonk 2"!! Well as most of you know its "supposed" to be a scary, bone chilling, horror movie.. Sorry to disappoint you it was none of the above..

It can be very well termed as another of Ram Gopal Verma's mis-fortune!!You guys must be wondering why such "horrific" comments about a movie!! Well this is just the torture speaking up!!

I have no idea what RGV was thinking while making this movie... or was he thinking at all?? It will put all Exorcists, Shutters, Grudges of the world to shame!!

I had seen RGV's first blunder- Phoonk(1).. and still "I" did a blunder to watch the second part. It was not out of choice but more because my sweet little room-mate had got the dvd and wanted to see it. We, in fact switched off the room light and created an "ambience" so that we can feel little scared.

But much to our disappoint we didn't. All along the movie just when the audience is about to feel little scared the scene changes!! I mean what's the hurry!! LOL :) There is a scene wherein a married couple goes to a jungle to make-out!! please give me a break! of all the places they decide to coochicoo in a jungle and suddenly start hearing weird noises and flee from there.. what was that all about??

The same old phoonk 1 house-maid has no role to play (poor soul) than to roll her eyes, roam about the house getting scared and fold hands in front of a Hanumanji calender!!

The make-up of the "Bhoots" was also not very impressive!! We have seen ample of such "Bhoots" since the Exorcist days!! The climax is such that in spite of the Hero getting stabbed 3-4 times by a Bhoot he still manages to stand and walk around!!

I think I have done enough damage here.. but these are my heart-felt emotions after the 2 hour torture. I actually feel sorry for the child artists in this movie :( why make them go through this? and I even feel sorry for those who wasted their hard-earned money watching this piece in movie halls!!

3 stooges!!

That's me, sharvari and bhavana....I first met the other two stooges when we shared a common shelter in the form of a Nepali PG/hostel. That was way back in 2006. We were 7 of us from different walks of life but sharing a common roof. After a hard day's work we used to feel slightly at home and at peace when we used to sit together and share our joys, sorrows, our disappointments and hopes and dreams.

One fine day we learnt that our PG owner was planning to close down the hostel. We felt quite homeless and pretty sad thinking about leaving each other's company. Yet there was so much to be decided-Finding another shelter.

After lot of discussions I, Sharvari and Bhavana decided to take up a rented apartment as we found ourselves to be compatible with each other compared to the rest. We didnt opt for another hostel thinking about the pathetic food and the possibility of another close-down situation.

We had 15 days to find a new home!! We started our planning with the best and the most convenient places for three of us wrt our office locations. Everday we used to shortlist some places and check them out after office in the evening. That was a very exciting time. After quite a few disappointments we finally found a place which we thought should be our home!!

It was a small and cozy place. One bedroom, one big hall, a very pretty kitchen, a balcony and a washroom. That was all we needed. It was a beautiful little place. Being a sales and marketing person Bhavana was our negotiator. We entered a deal and fixed up a date for shifting our dwelling. :)

After this came the most interesting part wherein we had to shop for all the things we would need. Every evening after office we used to go to Shivajinagar to buy utensils, beddings and other household items. We were making a home!!

Finally came the day when we had to vacate our old room, say goodbye to all the friends. There were mixed feelings though; we were excited about our new place!!

Our home was waiting for us. It needed a lot of cleaning and beautification. We set to work and within a couple of hours we had a "Home Sweet Home"!!

Bhavana even bought a small little TV for the house. It was complete. Initial few days went in adjusting to the new location, division of work etc. But I must say we were the most compatible room-mates possible.

Within a couple of weeks we had got into routine. Bhavana being the first to get up and go to office used to cook lunch for us. She is an awesome cook by the way!! I and Sharvari used to fix up some breakfast for ourselves and go to work.

In the evening since I was the first to come home I used to stop by and buy all the groceries, vegetables and other items which we needed. After coming home my main responsibility was washing the utensils. Sharvari was the next to enter the house. She used to be in charge of cutting vegetables and making the necessary prep for dinner. Bhavana being the main chef used to come home and cook. I and Sharvari didnt trust our culinary talents so much initially. But gradually we both started cooking together and serving our chef. :)

After cleaning the house we used to sit down, chat, watch TV and close our day..

Weekends used to be endless cleaning, washing clothes and lazying around... :) We used to have small get togethers occasionally with our friends too.

We shared some of the best, joyous and some of the worst moments also in that house. But we were a happy lot!! Best room-mates ever!! But good things dont last forever..

We were 11 months old in that place. And Bhavana's wedding was fixed. I and Sharvari also decided to move on our separate ways due to our career choices etc.

It was not a pleasant time deciding to move away and leave our beautiful place behind. But we had to...

We are in the same city even now; after almost two years.. but we live under different roofs. We do catch up and remember this time. I am glad I had these memories to pen down.

To tell you the truth those were the best days of my life!!

My Take on Twilight and on Edward Cullen...:)

I am probably late for giving my take on Edward Cullen.. :( But as all my friends know that I am a BIG fan of Twilight Saga and Edward Cullen (robert pattinson); I thought I should pen down a thing or two. In fact I dedicate this post to my very sweet colleague and friend Zainab whose constant coaxing has made me do this!!
Ok..So here goes..

Romantic novels were not my favorites per se but since Twilight Saga came along I got hooked onto it. And now I have realised that I actually am a diehard romantic!! :)

Twilight; for those of you who dont know is a novel capturing the love between a human girl and a vampire boy!! Strange as it sounds its one of the best fantasy novels I have come across. The author Stephanie Meyer very beautifully captures the budding love, the complications and the dangers involved in the lives of Edward and Bella.

Bella is a very ordinary and clumsy girl or so she thinks about herself whereas Edward has god-like looks and he is a mind-reader in true sense. From the moment Bella sets her eyes on him something draws her constantly to him. And its the same with Edward only that what actually draws him towards her is his incapability to penetrate her mind and the potent scent of her blood.

Its a rather unusual backdrop for a romance but the author has very vividly written the entire series from Twilight till Breaking dawn. There is everything in it- romance, fantastic characters, action and a very good storyline. I feel like going on and on about it but I think I should conclude this by giving my take on Edward Cullen....

I am not sure whom I like exactly- Edward as a character or as Robert Pattinson.. LOL :)

But I am going to write about Edward as a character. Hhmm.. I really wish all guys could be like him. :) I am sure all girls who like Twilight saga would have the same opinion.

Edward has been portrayed as a bronze haired, slight and pale vampire boy!! He has god-like looks, very captivating voice and smell and is gifted with mind-reading ability.

What I like about his character the most is that he has a perfect blend of Strength, Sense and Sensitivity... By this I mean that he is portrayed to be a deeply compassionate and understanding individual. Yet he has the physical and emotional strength to be able to defend his family and his beliefs!! He is shown to be a learned and a balanced person. And his love towards Bella is completely selfless and unconditional. He can shower her with all the love and care and yet be fiercely protective of her.

Its amazing how his character has been carved. How I wish this was not a fantasy character!! :) I think he is the only fictional character who has won the hearts of millions of female readers.

So far....

I come from a land of Sea, Sand and Sun-GOA!! Being brought up as a youngest child wasn't much of a challenge but being a part of a hardcore brahmin family was. Somehow Goa and hardcore brahmin family doesnt seem to co-exist in people's minds. But its true. My life in Goa was surrounded by various rules and do's and dont's. Everything I did had to be pre-approved; right from what I should wear to what I eat, to whom I speak etc etc.

But fortunately due to my good grades and a lot of convincing and coaxing from me, my parents agreed to let me pursue my further studies outside Goa!! It was quite an unusual and unheard kind of a thing in my family. Except my sister no one else had attempted it.

I was planning to be the second.. The process of preparing for my CAT exams till getting invites from various colleges was very lengthy. And even tedious was the process of appearing for a GD/PI, awaiting the results, getting shortlisted and finally applying for an education loan. The path seemed horribly difficult. But somehow I managed it...

5 yrs and 7 months back I came here-Bangalore-My second home!! I have had the best, worst and craziest days of my life here.....

Two years of hostel life was absolutely heaven...

Initial months away from home were miserably lonely. Though there were 300 students living in a 12 acre campus; we were not home!! But happiness, sadness and loneliness brought all of us together! That 12 acre land became our home away from home in a span of few months.

After that came a lot of late night coffees and movies, chit-chats, fights, birthday celebrations, new year bashes and some study squeezed in between all this work!! phew!!

When companies started coming in our campus we realised why we were there in the first place!! :) All of us fortunately made it in a corporate world but we were highly unrehearsed for what was going to come...

Our life changed after that.. we were no longer students. We suddenly became "professionals"!!!
There were no longer fights and late night strolls and coffees. :( Only work was being discussed.

Gradually we all had to go our separate worlds..

Its been 4 yrs as a professional!! Yet we are quite unrehearsed.. Now the life revolves around clients and customers and salaries.. Life is different. But its good.

Now as I sit in my hostel room and punch in these words.. These years are rewinding in my mind. A lot has gone by and a lot is yet to unfold...

I have come so far... And I am waiting for more..

To the next level...

My relationship with books began when I was 14-15 yrs old. I wouldnt say it was love at first sight but it turned out to be a long lasting relationship..

I am thankful to my big sister for introducing me to them. Until then I used to look at them as some kind of torture instruments used by teachers on poor innocent minds. I never distinguished between a Text Book and a Story Book. :) Anything with some loose sheets bind together was a generally accepted torture instrument.

Well one fine day this was going to change. My sis gave me a shiny colorful book and told me to enjoy it.. I started the book reluctantly but then I couldnt keep it away from me. That book was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.

From then on books became my best pals. After that came lot of Sidney Sheldons, Jeffery Archers, Agatha Christie, Robin Cook and the list still continues. The latest craze being Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. :)

Now I am thinking of taking my relationship with books to the next level.... Well I am thinking of writing down a word or two of my own.. :) Hope you guys would enjoy it too...

Keep looking....
